Women’s Digital Empowerment & Safety Program (WiDES)

🎯 Problem Statement

In Nigeria, over 70% of women aged 19–33 face digital threats such as online harassment, financial scams, image-based abuse, and cyberstalking. These experiences not only affect their mental health and confidence but also create significant barriers to career opportunities, digital entrepreneurship, and economic inclusion. Most women lack access to practical digital safety education, legal awareness, or platforms to safely speak up, and support structures are limited or nonexistent.

✅ Our Solution

“Women’s Digital Empowerment & Safety (WiDES)” is a transformative program that equips young women (ages 19–33) with tools to stay safe online, assert their digital rights, and unlock economic potential through safe and informed digital participation.

WiDES blends digital safety training with gender-based violence prevention, financial literacy, and digital entrepreneurship skills. It uses storytelling, tech-enabled peer support, and community-driven advocacy to foster digital resilience and financial independence.
