In rural and peri-urban communities, misinformation—especially around health, elections, and gender—spreads rapidly, disproportionately affecting women and youth. Women are underrepresented in digital literacy and fact-checking initiatives.

Fact-CheckHER is a community-led fact-checking and media literacy program that trains women, especially young mothers and teachers, to identify false information, verify facts, and teach others how to do the same, through placards, audio storytelling, and local languages.
